Where Travel Meets Design: A Founder’s Perspective

Some of my best design ideas haven’t come from a studio.

They’ve come from walking through unfamiliar streets, pausing at local markets, and simply observing how people live. As a founder, and as someone who has always loved to travel, I’ve realized that inspiration rarely arrives when you’re looking for it. It comes quietly, in moments you don’t plan.

For me, travel has never been just about destinations. It has always been about feeling. The colors of a place, the pace of life, the way fabrics move, and how people dress not for trends, but for comfort and culture.

Over time, I’ve realized something.

Travel and fashion design speak the same language.

It Begins With Curiosity

Every journey begins with curiosity.

And so does every design.

A handwoven textile in a small shop, an unexpected color pairing, or a silhouette shaped by everyday life. These moments stay. They don’t feel like research. They feel like discovery.

And slowly, they find their way into what I create.

Stories You Can Wear

Just like every place has a story, I believe every piece should carry one too.

A kaftan can hold the ease of a slow morning.

A pajama set can reflect comfort and quiet luxury.

A sarong can carry freedom and movement.

These are not just garments. They are experiences translated into fabric.

The Beauty of Imperfection

Travel teaches you that the most memorable places are rarely perfect.

It’s the uneven textures, the handmade details, the little imperfections that make something feel real.

That stays with me when I design.

I find myself drawn to pieces that feel human. Natural fabrics, handcrafted details, and subtle variations that make each piece unique.

Because perfection is predictable.

Authenticity is memorable.

Not everything needs to be perfect to feel meaningful

Designing for Real Life

Travel also teaches you the value of comfort.

What you wear needs to move with you. It needs to feel effortless.

That’s something I carry into every piece I design.

Clothing should not restrict. It should adapt.

It should allow you to move, pause, and simply be.

How Travel Shapes ViryaByUrbi

At ViryaByUrbi, my love for travel naturally finds its way into the brand.

Each collection is influenced by places I’ve been and moments I’ve lived.

The idea is simple.

To create pieces that travel well, feel easy, and are made thoughtfully.

Because the best pieces in your wardrobe are often the ones you reach for without thinking.

A Journey That Continues

Travel changes you.

And as a designer, it changes how you create.

For me, design has become a natural extension of travel. A way of holding onto moments and sharing them through something you can wear.

Because in the end, both travel and design come down to one thing.

How something makes you feel.
